MassHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Dave Edwards to the position of Connecting Activities Coordinator position. With a strong interest and desire to work with private employers, education and community professionals to implement a workforce system for youth focusing on career pathways, Dave is the perfect candidate for this position.

With experience in youth programming & advocacy, workforce development, networking, collaboration and employer engagement Dave has the necessary tools to support students, primarily through the ability to foster and maintain quality relationships with external stakeholders in the community.

Over the past 2 years, Dave has worked at MassHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board as the Youth Career Connect Coordinator assisting youth ages 14-24 with job search, and college and career readiness assistance and has also served as the liaison between the workforce center and Brockton High School.  Recruiting employer partners to assist the program with mentorship, site visits and internships, Dave will bring those skills to the Connecting Activities partnership.

Connecting Activities (CA) is the state-funded intermediary system, led by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), linking education, business and workforce development partners through the work of skilled intermediaries.  These linkages provide the background for a network that provides career development experiences for students in approximately 200 high schools across Massachusetts.   In the MassHire Greater Brockton region, those schools include; Avon HS, Brockton Public School District, Stoughton HS, Southeastern Regional Vocational HS, South Shore Regional Vocational HS, Whitman Hanson Regional School District and Oliver Ames HS.
