What is the MassHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board?
The MassHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board is one of 16 Workforce Boards statewide working to build links between the business community and the workforce. Under The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) the Board oversees and implements workforce development activities in the Greater Brockton Region. We are composed of private sector business, labor, education, and community leaders. We also serve as conduits for federal and state workforce development funds. The Workforce Board helps to connect employers with job seekers and provides current members of the workforce, and those seeking employment, with training. MassHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board also serves as the fiscal agent for the Department of Labor’s Title 1 programs.
The MassHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board initiatives include, but are not limited to: Workforce Training Fund Programs (WTFP), One-Stop Career Centers, School to Career Connecting Activities, Youth Summer Jobs, Brockton Regional Veterans Council, economic development and a variety of education programs. In an ever changing economy, the Workforce Boards are vital to the workforce community.
