In October 2024, the Healey-Driscoll Administration announced over $16 million in grant awards to invest in planning, capacity, training, and equipment for climate-critical jobs in the clean energy and climatetech sector.  As part of this investment locally, MassHire Greater Brockton Workforce Board is leading an effort to create a clean energy career awareness and exploration program for youth and young adults aged 16 to 24. MassHire GBWB currently seeks input and partnership with local Clean Energy employers, leaders, and stakeholders. Help young people realize the ever-emerging opportunities in this industry!

Partner with MassHire GBWB to Promote Careers in Clean Energy

Youth development is workforce development. Through our Connecting Activities Partnership, Clean Energy companies have exclusive opportunities to present and connect directly with local students & educators. In the last two school years alone, nearly 1000 students have attended events like STEM Career Exploration Day, CAP Career Day, Brockton Area Construction Career Day and more! While all industries are welcome and recruited to participate, our Clean Energy Career Awareness efforts have helped to better showcase these critical and ever-evolving clean energy/climate tech career paths. If students can see it, they can be it! Thank you to our employer partners in workforce development!

Clean Energy in Southeastern Massachusetts

The clean energy industry is dedicated to generating energy from renewable sources like solar, wind, hydropower, and geothermal. Massachusetts is at the forefront of this movement, with ambitious renewable energy goals and policies designed to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability. Along with our SE MA partners MassHire BristolMassHire Greater New Bedford, and MassHire South Shore Workforce Boards, MassHire GBWB is committed to working with employers & partners to highlight the workforce needs in the clean energy/climate tech industries.

MassTalent seeks to create a broad coalition across the state’s business community to promote available opportunities to accelerate the generation of skilled talent by connecting employers and industry to qualified talent, and jobseekers to employment and training opportunities statewide. When seeking employer partners for youth engagement opportunities like internships, job-shadowing, and apprenticeships, MassHire GBWB first looks at who is hiring! We encourage partners and jobseekers to use JobQuest and search using the MassTalent field; “Clean Energy / Climate Tech”.
